
We at the Birmingham Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards 2016, are pleased to announce our amiable ambassadors for the inaugural ceremony.
The Birmingham Food Drink & Hospitality Awards will be held in the city this summer, celebrating the very best of Birmingham’s culinary and hospitality industry greats. Whether one has a roaring restaurant trade, a coveted chef, a master mixologist or the best bed and breakfast in town, this is a chance for them all to shine.
This year’s fantastic list of ambassadors includes some well known names, including proud Brummie Garry Poulton, who has spent seven years as a programme manager, developing new store sites for a leading supermarket chain. He is best known for his appearance on BBC’s show The Apprentice (2015).
Also acclaimed food and wine writer Paul Fulford, who cemented his 18 year career as Birmingham Mail’s restaurant critic, during which time he has watched the city’s dining-out scene blossom with the emergence of some outstanding chefs.
Pushpa Alexander, founder, host and promoter for Headz Up Business Events, will also be acting as proud ambassador for the Birmingham Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards 2016. Pushpa is an entrepreneur, professional speaker, award-winning event organisor with a proven record of hosting successful SOLD OUT events on digital, social media marketing and women in business events.
As well as Denise Morris, founder of TAG Network Midlands. She is an entrepreneur, business development professional who has worked for years within the professional services sector.
Jas Sansi, freelance photographer, will also be in attendance as an ardent ambassador. The talented and dedicated photographer has strong relationships with some of the biggest media organisations within Birmingham.
He will be joined by Ahmed Ahmed, editor of Dine Birmingham, the city’s leading food and drink guide. He is a champion of the city’s food sector and hosts a regular radio show exploring food trends and meeting local producers.
Last but certainly not least, Tim Andrews, Managing Director of Hollywood Monster joins the list of ambassadors. Tim has built a highly successful large format print and signage business. Mr Andrews was great supporter of the Inaugural Birmingham Awards and Birmingham Events team. Well known for his fundraising efforts, the Brummie business tycoon recently became the CEO for Birmingham City Ladies Football Club.
The esteemed ceremony, hosted by high-spirited Brummie Alison Hammond, presenter of ITV’s This Morning, is set to take place at Edgbaston Stadium on the 6th of June.

Judged by an independent panel of well-established food and drink connoisseurs, seasoned foodies and bon viveurs, food and drink has never been so exciting!
